A first of it's kind

It seems my friends that things are starting to get back to normal around here. (whatever that means!) Ive done quit a few projects since our return from the hospital but Im only blogging about one in paticular right now. This project was, what I think, my most challenging to date. I decided to (get ready for it...) sew something for ME! Let's start from the top. Here's my inspiration-

Skirts are my least favorite article of clothing, but I've been wearing the same 2 for 3 months. My eye caught this because of it's color, I happen to love it right now. It's high waisted which scared me because my waist is currently covered in fat.

Here's the online pattern printed out

which turned into this...(not easy by the way)

These tiny lil' images are all i have to go off of!

My first pleats!!...Im feelin good, success is in the making!

Woops... I sewed on half a waistband. That's what I get for talking on the phone to Mandi while sewing!

Alright that's better

Here it is all hemmed up.

It's not perfect by any means

but...

Im really happy with the results. Due to paranoia, i made it a little bigger (Im so used to things not fitting) so it's not as high waisted as i wanted it, and because Im currently ashamed of my hair, skin, body...you get half of a finished photo shot!

Ok, I lied...i want to share another project.
I made a little sunday outfit for Emry (whose doing MUCH better by the way) and I love it!

Handsome, right? If there was a sacrament for babies...my little guy could pass it! Long sleeve tie onsie with pants and shoes recyled from an old pair of slacks.

Alright, now for the good stuff. Im happy to announce that im opening an online store. New Year, new name. Im proud to introduce...

Once I have it up and running, this button will be on my sidebar that will link you directly to my shop. In addition, Im super excited to announce an open house in the works (hopefully in March) where my creations will be available for purchase!!

This might sound selfish, BUT.... I really want to win this giveaway. I think I deserve it! Im terrified of getting professional pics and have Saylee be a blur in every single shot! I need a professional to take a challenge and capture the chaos that is my nugget filled life and Connie B looks like the gal who could do it!!

When life hands you lemons...you cough them up!

What day is it??

Im not sure anymore. I think its Monday but I don't remember going to church yesterday. It can't be Sunday because I didn't watch SNL last night. I hope it's not Tuesday because I haven't showered since Thursday...

Well seeing as how Monday's are out to get me...its got to be Monday

Im here at Banner's Cardon childrens hospital where I've been for awhile. Friday morning after taking Grady to the doctors for the FIRST time since he was 3 weeks old started a weekend of chaos. After learning that in addition to Grady having a stomach virus, he had pink eye in both eyes and an ear infection.

Whoa...

After getting chest xrays done and excluding pneumonia, he was still throwing up and lethargic. So we took him to the ER.

7 hours later we were home...

So my Saturday morning exhaustion was in overdrive. Since timing is a bi#%^, I had a bridal shower at my house that could not be rescheduled. During which time Emry (now 8 weeks old), was throwing up and turning purple from lack of air and coughing his little buns off.

Cardons children hospital here we come...
and here we stay...

My little guy tested positive for RSV. He slept like a log yesterday becuase he was up for about 16 hours straight the day before. He's lost a little weight because he can't drink more than an ounce of milk before coughing ensues and last for 20 minutes.

Hey flu season...why so mean girl?

Emrys got oxegen to help him breath and an IV to keep him hydrated. He gets some deep suction sucked out of his lungs every 4 hours and I cannot believe the junk thats been inside his little body. My poor little nugget has been such a trooper.

In my almost 5 years of parenting we have yet to make a single hospital run...now we're 2 in 2 days and i can tell you this- I don't like it.

Meanwhile Dustin is at home helping Grady recoop and trying his hardest not to infect Brody and Saylee.

but when it rains it pours...
