A first of it's kind

It seems my friends that things are starting to get back to normal around here. (whatever that means!) Ive done quit a few projects since our return from the hospital but Im only blogging about one in paticular right now. This project was, what I think, my most challenging to date. I decided to (get ready for it...) sew something for ME! Let's start from the top. Here's my inspiration-

Skirts are my least favorite article of clothing, but I've been wearing the same 2 for 3 months. My eye caught this because of it's color, I happen to love it right now. It's high waisted which scared me because my waist is currently covered in fat.

Here's the online pattern printed out

which turned into this...(not easy by the way)

These tiny lil' images are all i have to go off of!

My first pleats!!...Im feelin good, success is in the making!

Woops... I sewed on half a waistband. That's what I get for talking on the phone to Mandi while sewing!

Alright that's better

Here it is all hemmed up.

It's not perfect by any means

but...

Im really happy with the results. Due to paranoia, i made it a little bigger (Im so used to things not fitting) so it's not as high waisted as i wanted it, and because Im currently ashamed of my hair, skin, body...you get half of a finished photo shot!

Ok, I lied...i want to share another project.
I made a little sunday outfit for Emry (whose doing MUCH better by the way) and I love it!

Handsome, right? If there was a sacrament for babies...my little guy could pass it! Long sleeve tie onsie with pants and shoes recyled from an old pair of slacks.

Alright, now for the good stuff. Im happy to announce that im opening an online store. New Year, new name. Im proud to introduce...

Once I have it up and running, this button will be on my sidebar that will link you directly to my shop. In addition, Im super excited to announce an open house in the works (hopefully in March) where my creations will be available for purchase!!
